When To Get A New Bra

Did you know a bra has a life expectancy?  If you wore the same bra everyday and washed it often, the life expectancy for that bra would run out in about 4 months.  That's why we have so many bras.  We all have that favorite one that keeps finding it's way to the top of the drawer so it gets worn more than the rest.  The problem is it will wear out faster than expected.  Washing and wearing, stretches the fabric and causes it to relax resulting in less support. As your bra ages, the elasticity will relax. That is when you should go up to the next hook for the best results. When new, your bra should fit using the hook closest to the end of the band.  As it loses its elasticity, you should go up a hook.  When you have reached the 3rd hook and your bra is not supporting you as it once did, it's time for a new bra.

Band Size

The best measurement is done using a cloth tape measure and without a shirt on. You can keep your bra on as long as it does not have a lot of padding. Wrap the tape measure around your back where your band usually is. If you're not sure about placement, be sure the tape measure is level on your back as the tape measure wraps around the front and just under the breasts (let's say it's a 36) That is your band size. If you measure to an odd number go up to the next even size. Your band should be comfortable and never dig into your skin.

Keep in mind that the CleavaciousR bra can be adjusted DOWN to the next size.  Depending on what you measure for the band you need to decide if the bra would still be comfortable if you were to adjust it down a size.  If not you should order the next band size up and adjust the bra down to fit.  Example: If the band measures a solid 36 and adjusting down to a 34 would be too tight, you should order a 38 and adjust the bra down to a 36.  With a CleavaciousR bra it is important to order the correct size to get results.

Bust Line

When measuring your bust line keep in mind that this is the widest part of your breasts. As it was in measuring the band, it is important you keep the tape measure level on your back and around to the highest part of the breast across the nipple (let's say that is a 39) There is a 3 inch difference from 39 & 36. Count a cup for each inch difference. In the example provided, the correct size would be a 36C.

Determining the correct cup sizes: 1"=A cup 2"=B cup 3"=C cup 4"=D cup 5"=DD cup

Proper Measuring

If you have been measured in the past you may have seen the fitter add 4 or 5 inches to the measurement that is taken around your ribcage. We do not recommend you use this technique when measuring for a CleavaciousR Bra. This will cause you to wear a bra that is too big for you in the band and can also throw off your cup size.

Remember: A band that is too big will ride up in the back and make you saggy.
